A Unique Educational Path: Tech Meets Design
Akanksha began her academic journey in a field quite different from design. She completed a B.Tech in Computer Science in 2013. However, her creative instincts led her to follow her passion. She pursued Interior Design & Styling at Pearl Academy, where she quickly stood out.
She was chosen to lead the design of Pearl’s annual exhibition, ‘Aagaman.’ Shortly after her jury presentation, she was offered her first professional design project—marking the true beginning of her career.
Additionally, she earned a Diploma in Traditional Vastu from Bhartiya Vidya Bhawan and completed the Business Mastery Program by Rahul Jain to strengthen her entrepreneurial vision.
The Rise of ‘Studio-a’ & Her Entrepreneurial Story
Akanksha’s first hands-on experience came through internships at Iqrup and Ritz and Studio Lotus. At Lotus, she grew into the role of project lead, handling large-scale interior projects.
Later, she joined Livspace as a business manager, leading a 24-member team and learning how to scale design businesses. She also worked at ATS as head of their design division, ‘Expertise.’
In the meantime, she appeared as a visiting faculty member at Pearl Academy, giving back to the design community. She also starred in her own 9-episode show, “Ghar Ho Toh Aisa,” on Tata Sky.
Before launching her current firm, Akanksha co-founded Artesa Living, a design and furniture venture that completed over 150 residential and commercial projects.
Today, she leads Studio-a, her core design firm that handles residential, commercial, and retail projects PAN India. Among her clients are elite names like DLF Magnolias.
