Some design for beauty. Others, for function. But Akanksha Arora designs for something far more intimate—feeling. To her, every space is a personal memory in the making, a silent narrator of the lives unfolding within it. As the visionary behind The Yello Butterfly Studio, Akanksha brings more than just aesthetics to the table.
With 14+ years of experience and a rich, multidisciplinary background, she seamlessly blends logic, creativity, and emotional intelligence into her work. Her designs aren’t static—they evolve, breathe, and transform—much like the butterfly that inspired the studio’s name. Each project is not just a space—it’s a journey of becoming.
From Coding to Colors: Akanksha’s Unconventional Path
Akanksha’s academic journey began in a world far from interiors. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Abasaheb Garware College. Later, she pursued an MBA at Great Lakes Institute of Management (sister concern), sharpening her business instincts.
Her heart gravitated toward art and design. Determined to follow her passion, she enrolled in an interior design degree at PIAT (Pune Institute Of Applied Technology) and School Of Interior Design And Decoration. These experiences laid the foundation for her unique design style—analytical yet intuitive, structured yet soulful.

The Yello Butterfly Studio: Born of Art, Designed for Grace
The studio’s story started on a sunlit balcony. A simple sketch of a butterfly sparked something profound. That sketch evolved into a logo and, soon after, into a studio that would transform spaces across India.
In 2015, Akanksha founded The Yello Butterfly Studio, taking on freelance design assignments—from cozy kitchens to charming balconies. With each project, her vision grew clearer.
