Skyline Interior, based in Ahmedabad, approaches residential projects with a focus on practical planning, thoughtful material selection and personalised detailing. Led by Principal Interior Designer Manali Pandya, the studio creates homes where aesthetics are closely connected to everyday living.
Completed in 2026, Rooted in Warmth is a 2,520 sq. ft. 3 BHK residence in Gandhinagar that brings together warm wood, soft colours, natural textures and crafted details. The living and dining spaces introduce pista green and nature-inspired elements, while the kitchen takes a softer pastel-blue direction. Across the bedrooms and mandir, different materials and forms give each space its own identity.
A Contemporary Home Built Around Natural Tones
The design takes a softer approach to contemporary interiors, using warm timber, muted colours and textured surfaces instead of sharp contrasts or excessive decoration. Furniture is planned around comfort, while integrated storage keeps the rooms organised and allows the architectural finishes to remain visible.
Each area has been given a slightly different visual character. Green upholstery and a forest mural bring a natural quality to the living room, the kitchen uses pastel blue for a lighter expression, and the bedrooms introduce blue-grey, timber and patterned elements. This creates variety while keeping the overall residence visually connected.
An Entrance That Creates a Warm First Impression
The entrance establishes the home’s material palette through wooden surfaces, neutral flooring and understated lighting. Timber detailing adds warmth from the moment one enters, while the neutral surroundings keep the space open and uncluttered. Instead of filling the entry with decorative objects, the design allows the combination of materials and clean detailing to create its character.
The adjoining passage continues the wooden language through coordinated doors and subtle detailing, creating a smooth transition towards the main living area. Soft lighting highlights the surfaces without making the circulation space feel overly bright or decorative.
A Living Room Where Pista Green Takes Centre Stage
The living room is defined by pista-green upholstered sofas, bringing a soft nature-inspired colour into the space. Generously cushioned seating is paired with warm wooden framing, while matching green cushions reinforce the colour story. Beige curtains, neutral flooring and timber details provide a quieter backdrop, allowing the upholstery to become the main visual highlight.
A forest-inspired mural behind the seating adds another layer of character through subtle tree forms and muted natural shades. Full-height curtains and sheer panels soften the large windows, while warm lighting enhances the different textures across the room. Together, the mural, upholstery and timber create a living space that feels inviting without appearing visually crowded.
A Dining Area Enhanced by Sculptural Lighting
The dining area continues from the living room through a coordinated combination of pista-green upholstery and warm wood. A light-toned dining table is paired with wooden chairs, creating contrast while maintaining a connection with the adjoining seating area. The arrangement keeps the dining space practical for everyday meals as well as social gatherings.
Above the table, a sculptural pendant light becomes the focal point and gives the setting a more intimate atmosphere in the evening. A wooden sideboard placed against the textured brick-finish wall provides storage and display space, while the Radha Krishna artwork adds a meaningful cultural detail to the composition.
A Pastel Blue Kitchen Designed for Everyday Function
The kitchen shifts away from the green tones of the social spaces and introduces pastel blue cabinetry with framed shutters. The soft colour gives the kitchen a fresh appearance, while the framed fronts add definition to the cabinetry. Overhead units feature fluted-glass shutters, adding texture and visually breaking up the larger storage surfaces.
A marble-look backsplash provides a subtle stone-inspired contrast against the blue cabinetry. Warm under-cabinet lighting highlights both the backsplash and countertop while offering useful task illumination. The combination of pastel cabinetry, fluted glass, marble-look surfaces and warm lighting gives the kitchen a refined appearance while keeping its practical requirements in focus.
A Mandir That Brings Traditional Craftsmanship Indoors
The mandir introduces one of the home’s strongest traditional elements through intricately carved wooden detailing. The craftsmanship gives the shrine a rich, handcrafted quality and creates a distinct visual moment within the otherwise contemporary residence.
At the centre, a layered lotus-inspired motif surrounds the Om symbol, adding both cultural significance and decorative depth. Rather than relying on multiple ornamental elements, the mandir allows the carving and central motif to create its richness. The warm timber finish also ties the space back to the wooden elements used throughout the residence.
Bedrooms With Their Own Distinct Character
The bedrooms move away from the social spaces while maintaining the home’s emphasis on comfort, texture and practical storage. One bedroom combines a soft upholstered headboard, textured wall treatment and integrated storage, creating a calm focal point around the bed. The restrained palette allows the textures and furniture detailing to remain the primary visual features.
Another bedroom introduces arched forms, patterned surfaces and warm timber detailing, giving it a more expressive personality. The curved elements soften the furniture’s stronger lines, while integrated wardrobes keep storage visually organised. This variation allows the bedrooms to feel individually designed rather than like repeated versions of the same room.
A Blue-Grey Bedroom With Integrated Storage
The secondary bedroom uses soft blue, muted grey and ivory to create a cooler, quieter atmosphere. A generously upholstered headboard extends visually into the side surfaces, giving the bed wall a continuous appearance. Subtle textured panels add depth while keeping the backdrop understated.
The wardrobe combines a marble-inspired textured finish, vertical divisions and elongated dark handles, making the storage wall feel like part of the room’s design rather than a separate furniture unit. A compact study and dressing console is integrated alongside it, with a display niche and fluted-glass shutters adding further detail. Patterned curtains, blue-grey bedding, a minimal bedside pendant and concealed linear ceiling lighting complete the space.
A Residence Where Every Detail Has a Purpose
Rooted in Warmth brings together a range of colours, textures and design details while keeping the interiors comfortable and practical. The pista-green living room, forest mural, sculptural dining light, pastel-blue kitchen, carved mandir and blue-grey bedroom each contribute something different to the overall experience of the home.
Designed by Skyline Interior, the Gandhinagar residence demonstrates how personalised detailing can give a contemporary home its own identity. Integrated storage, comfortable furniture, carefully selected finishes and meaningful elements such as the Radha Krishna artwork make the interiors feel considered without becoming excessive. The result is a home that balances contemporary design with warmth, character and everyday usability.
